What is Aloe Vera?

There are over 200 varieties of Aloe plants in the world but only about six of them are recognised for their healing qualities.

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant of the "Liliacae" family and is related to onion, garlic and asparagus. True Aloe is often referred to, amongst other names, as:

  • The Burn Plant
  • The Dietary Plant
  • The Healing Plant
  • The Medicine Plant
  • The Wonder Plant
  • The First Aid Plant
  • Heaven’s Blessing
  • The Plant of Life
  • The Potted Physician
  • The Single Bible
  • The Silent Healer
  • The Wand of Heaven

The variety of Aloe that FLP use is the "Aloe Barbadensis Miller".

Aloe Vera plants take four or five years to reach maturity, the leaves are about 70cm in length and 8-10cm wide at the base. The flower stem develops from the centre, reaching about 1m in length.

It reproduces in two ways:

The flowers produce seeds

It throws out suckers or "pups"

Aloe Vera plants have a life-span of about 12 years.

There are four basic layers to the Aloe leaf:

On the outside is the rind which is very bitter – you may have used "bitter aloes" to paint on a child&apot;s nails to stop them biting them. The rind also contains anthraquinones which are powerful
laxatives.

The next layer is the "xylem and phloem" or "sap" which forms the plant’s transport system – for water and nutrients.

The third layer is the mucilage which contains a long-chain sugar called "acemannan". This is recognised as affecting the immune system.

Finally, in the centre of the leaf is the "gel fillet" which is the storage area of the plant – where all the main nutrients of the aloe is found.

Why buy FLP Aloe Vera?

FLP is the world’s largest grower, manufacturer and distributor of Aloe Vera products. The company was founded in 1978, and it dedicated to producing quality products which can help people.

Rather than adding just a few drops of Aloe Vera to our products, Forever Living starts with the pure, fresh, 100% Aloe Vera and adds small amounts of other ingredients in order to preserve the Aloe and to aid in the absorption and
application of the various formulations - eg lotions, shampoos, skincare products.

The number one ingredient in all our products is 100% Stabilisied Aloe Vera Gel.

Forever Living Products grow all their own Aloe Vera, harvest it by hand and process it in their own processing plants within hours of harvesting.

These are some of the reasons why FLP Aloe Vera products are the most effective you can buy….. at any price!

Growing and harvesting

FLP owns its own Aloe plantations in the Rio Grande Valley in Southern Texas. FLP have their own dedicated personnel who tend the plants from the nursery where the "pups" are nurtured, to the cultivated fields of
mature Aloe Vera plants which are carefully timed for hand harvesting.

Forever Living grows only "Aloe Barbadensis" and they only use mature Aloe Vera plants which guarantee 100% gel potency thus preserving the 75 essential ingredients found in the plants.

No herbicides or pesticides are used in our fields and all plants are harvested by hand by a team of trained and caring personnel.

Processing methods

Forever Living processes the Aloe Vera leaves within hours of them being harvested. They are washed and rinsed thoroughly before being carefully filleted. Minutes after the filleting, the raw gel is stabilised and used in the
production of our many and various products. Only the pure Aloe Vera gel is used. The leaf, along with the yellow lining (called "aloin") is discarded. It is processed and used as a fertiliser to put back on the aloe fields.

Although FLP products are sold as cosmetics and foods, they are manufactured under a pharmaceutical license which means that the factories, machinery, testing equipment, etc are subject to stringent government regulations.
Every batch of every product is tested a number of times, during and after the final formulation – and before it is released from quarantine to be sold to you, the consumer. All consumable products are sealed to protect them against
contamination and to increase the shelf-life of the product.

Even the bottles containing our four varieties of drinking gel are made from a unique 3-layer plastic which further protects the products from oxidation and keeps it fresh.

Since FLP control the whole process they can guarantee the quality of their products. The products are made on a timely basis – not left sitting around for months before they are released to the public: you are assured of getting a
fresh product made, at most, a few weeks before arriving at our warehouses.

Fresh from plant to your home

Our Aloe Vera Gel and Aloe Berry Nectar have earned the right to display the Aloe Science Council’s Seal of approval. The Food and Drug Testing Laboratories of New York conducted an independent test comparing FLP stabilised
gel with the raw, mature Aloe Barbadensis leaf. They found that the two were "essentially identical" – ie what you have in the bottle is the same as what you would have if you cut and filleted your own leaf. However, buying
our product avoids you having the mess!

Mouth ulcers
Pharyngitis
Oesophagitis
Peptic ulcer – gastric & duodenal
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Crohn’s disease
Colitis
Diverticulitis

In FLP Aloe Vera, the basic Aloe Vera Gel drink contains approximately 96% pure stabilised Aloe Vera Gel. This Gel is a mixture of sap, mucilage and gel fillet.

Although many products on the open market claim to be “100% Aloe Vera Juice”, they may contain as little as 15% Aloe Vera – or even less. It’s rather like saying that a swimming pool contains 100% chlorine – yes, 100% chlorine is
added to the water, but in sufficiently low ratio as to be almost insignificant in the overall potency in the water.

Our sales exceed those of all other Aloe Vera companies, and our sales are mainly to repeat customers – indicating a very high rate of customer satisfaction.

And – just two things to remember:

  1. You cannot buy our products through normal retail outlets
  2. All our products come with a 60-day money-back guarantee.
